Must admit that is what i miss about sea fishing as a rule.
Most fish are not really going to give you a scrap on the rods we have to use to get the bait out there.
Just can i afford another hobby :)

Ive been fly fishing since christmas and i love it. Worr lass got me a cheap set up for christmas and it does the job till i save up for better gear. Ive had 2 rainbows over 5lb and plenty more around the 2lb mark. Got my first trout on a dry fly at Higham on Sunday gone and you cant beat it. Still got all my sea gear and i wont sell it coz i will come back to sea fishing but for the forseable future it fly fishing for me.

The rangers up at Derwent sell a starter kit for fly angling. I got one it was £120. I got a Lureflash rod (which i still use). Bag,reel, lines, net, lures and a free days fishing at the reservoir. You need a freshwater licence which is about £26 and can be obtained on line.
Its a case of trying it and see if you like it. When you get a trout on the fly rod it is really good as they fight like hell and you have to use your skill and play it to net it as the rod is only thin.
Mick.
