I snapped the tip on my greys nitra a while back. So I've waited till after Xmas to get it sorted so got in touch with greys to sort it out. Only problem being there don't do the tip section for my rod now but have offered me 50% of the RRP on new Apollo so does any now how much they are and what's your thoughts

Hi greys are doing this a lot with guys there supposed to have a guarantee that you can get an exchange tip or butt for a certain price but now there saying they don't have the replacements but you can get a new rod for half price which is around £140-£150

Just had a look I fish the river a lot so I think the match one would the one. RRP £280 so I would get it for £140

bit of a con if u ask me, no replacement for your guarentee , then they expect you to buy a new rod off them half price which they will still be making a profit on , no the wonder their going ti ts up:rolleyes:
if i were you mate i would demand that they fulfil their guarentee or give you a new appollo to replace your broken rod

That's what I was thinking at first coz if I got a new tip it would cost £40-£50 carriage costs but they wanting £140. So where's my lifetime service gone

Agree with u mate

if your rods under warrenty its there job to replace it at there cost not yours if they dont have your type in stock they have to give you a replacement or refund if you bought a new car and it blew up the insurance company wont say sorry we cant replace your focus but you can have this merc for 25 grand there expecting you to pay 150x more and the rrp is always 100 quid plus the shop price i would not execept anything except a full refund or suitible replacement i had a problem with grays with my non waterproof waterproof coat

Greys tried it with me when I snapped Apollo mk2 wen I refused to buy the Apollo extreme half price they offered me a Apollo mk3 that they had in shop as an ex demo. So try and ask that question first.

Keep pressure on them about their guarantee, but If I had a rod snap on me I don`t think I would be replacing it with another one from same company ,would be in my mind waiting for the replacement to go on me.

Been on the phone I don't want to say to much at mo. but got to speak to right person there to sort it but first call I got no further forward.

There lifetime warranty has always been a very grey area.

If you have a warranty that clearly states lifetime warranty then they are obligated to replace your tip.

I hope this isn't the case.
I have four greys rods where the lifetime guarantee was the deciding factor.
I still have them even though I don't use them much, as they are worth keeping with their guarantee.
The fact they would even try this has put me right off buying anything Greys again.

That's was one of the reasons I got it. Thinking it was good to have a warranty just incase.

get back on the blower mate be polite but firm, dont take no for an answer, tell them you either want a new tip, a new rod or a full refund if there answer is no tell them you will go to citerzens advice or trading standards they dont have a leg to stand on if you have a lifetime guarentee do it now mate
