Is it worth it?

I've got an old Daiwa Moonraker 12 foot beachcaster that my Dad bought 2nd hand in the mid-eighties. It's got a few broken rings but is otherwise a lovely rod to cast and fish with.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have totally re-rung? And where?
Do Fraser's in Whitley do that? Thanks for any advice :D

If that's the case, Ross - you've answered your own question - yep, it's worth it - especially if it's only gonna be around the 30-40 quid mark. If you've got a rod that you're comfortable fishing with - why change it for a new one when it only needs a new set of rings ??

Great stuff, lads. Thanks for the advice.

T.C - you're dead right. My eyes light up whenever I see shiny new rods in the shops but this old Daiwa suits me down to the ground. And - forgive the sentimentality - but the fact that Dad and me have had a few fish on it over the years adds to the appeal:)

I'll get down to Frasers...(If it costs more than 80 quid, that might test my loyalty, like:D)

Buy the rings and whipping thread and do it yourself? It's not that difficult but like everything it takes a bit of practice...
