I'm heading for a four day session to Isle of Man in July to target tope from the shore and I was wondering can u camp on the beach like u can in Scotland or would we be moved on. Going to be fishing late night through to early morning so the beach would be better than a campsite. Cherry in advance for ur answers lads.

I was there last year, there's not much at the point of Ayre, I couldn't see you having any problems putting a tent up in the sand dunes.
I can remeber seeing where people had made an area to have fires in the dunes.

Thanks mate I think we r going to fish mainly point west I have heard u can stay in caravan or motor home. Thanks mate did u catch much when u were there

I was there for a week, I had 2 tope, plenty of pollock and mackerel.

I stayed in a hotel in Douglas. Ramsey is the nearest village to the point where you can get what you need, there's a tackle shop there aswell.

What date are you going.

I wish I could help, because I'd love a cherry! :)

Your better off fishing for Tope on an evening flood tide. In darkness you will be plagued by doggies. Landing a Tope in darkness would also be problemmatic ad the weed can be a nightmare. You will catch Tope in daylight, but only if they are present!! Last year they arrived late. Ps don't forget decent daylights up to powercasting the mackerel can be a long way out!! Good luck sure you will have great time.
