Just had a week up with the family on holiday. Only gear i took was light stuff for any spinning. Locals all said the spot to fish was Neist Point so after a one day recce spent last day of holiday trying for Pollack. And what a day I had. After couple of casts with my spinner on I was just about to lift the spinner out of the water when a big Pollack leapt out and tried to grab it. Thought bingo game on here. Few more casts then bang had one on about 7lb. Got it to rock edge and made fatal mistake of trying to lift it up, Mono leader snapped and fish lost. Ok I thought battle on so on went another spinner and bang another take. This one bent my rod double. The fish dived into the rocks below my cliff mark and got stuck. I thought what am I going to do here. Hopping along rocks on edge of water I managed to get it out and then it was a case of you to me and me to you lol. Finally got fish to surface only to see it was foul hooked in side. This time I walked the fish around to lower rocks to my right and climbed down and grabbed it. I was absolutely elated.

Got the hook out of its side and it went back ok. Then I had another three big ones landed which I returned and lost another half a dozen.
On the last cast I caught this fella which we had for tea.

I have to say that this one of my best days fishing ever.
Tight lines Mick.

"The only gear I took was light spinning gear". It should read " THE ONLY GEAR I WAS ALLOWED TO TAKE WAS LIGHT SPINNING GEAR". and " After a recci I fished on the last day" should read " AFTER A RECCI, I WAS ALLOWED TO FISH THE LAST DAY". There Mick. I've turned your report into a true and accurate report yer honour !!!! Well done Mick 😄
