Been down the boat today to pay the fee's and check everything over, when i opened the cabin door i felt like being a big kid and standing at the steering wheel making engine noises with eyes closed as i was heading out the pier ends with the sun blasting overhead and a flat sea in front....heavan.

Then eyes open, frozen marina and tied up on its berth with 9" of ice on the deck lol

Wont be long, the marina was starting to melt and everyones boats on here had little snow left on to worry about, 4 swans watched in hope as i cleaned the drain holes out of thick ice looking for some food.

Only 12 days to go to the winter solstice then summer is on the way and the days get longer. We'll all be let out soon.

We must all think alike , I look forward to the winter solstice too , but I'm generally dissapointed for a couple of weeks afterwards when I barely notice a change :D . seems to pass faster every year , but so do the summers :(

ROLL ON 2011

I would have loved to started it but half the engine is in my spare room for a good clean down and service over the winter months to fill the time in.

More like i have nothing better to do than clean fan belt dust and salt off parts then touch up with paint and put back after abit oil and polish :) Nothing needs doing realy it just fills the time and gives me somthing to play with.

Also have the two battery's to clean up the conections on and de-charge then re-charge.....ow the fun we will have over the winter :)

If they are lead acid cells then they don’t like being discharged, it can damage the plates and shorten their life. Best to keep them on trickle charge or top up with a short burst on an ordinary charger every few weeks or so.
