Jacket advice

What do you lot wear
I'm looking for something to keep me warm but also needs to stop water getting through
I currently wear one of the greys zipped waterproof jacket but may aswell wear a tshirt when it starts to rain
I had a Titan smock which was ok but a lot of tackle shops can't get them & even suggest there crap anyway
I do spray waterproofer on my jacket which helps a little
 
Your Greys must be old and knackered. I have a Greys smock top and its brilliant. When it gets really cold I wear a Sundridge Floatation suit.

IMAX thermo coastal jacket or smock. From £39-£49 online. Heard some decent reports about them. Also a few lads wear the Vass smocks aswell mate. Happy shopping!
 
I use the vass heavy duty blue smock with a greys Apollo fleece underneath warm as toast and bone dry also got a sundridge sas mk 7 flotation jacket which are fairly cheap to buy now
 
I'm prob just a soft shi** Iv got the greys extreme
Not that old & not used much but I wash it quite regular. Iv probably lost the waterproofing on jacket so might need it done properly
 
When you wash waterproofs don't use detergent softer and don't put it on a spin, no coat will stay waterproof if washed that way, I wear titan clothing very warm and waterproof.

Got A Vass..seriously waterproof...only thing when it's blowing, wet, and really cold,(Snowing?:mad:), even in my neoprenes my hands get bloody frozen...would be better with a hand warmer pouch ...then top kit !
Other jackets with hand warmers sort it !

Tony the reason tackle shops don't deal with titan is there after sales is -hite,it's still great gear though a lot of people say it's not waterproof but I've used titan
For years new and old and it's never let me down.
 
The vass smoocks are very waterproof but the big downside to them is the lack of pockets you need somewhere to keep weather off your hands when its cold.Also i find the tight elasticated bottom and cuffs very uncomfortable.Last jacket i got was a berghaus goretex so far so good:)

We do a lot of winter hill walking in all weathers and one of the best bit of kit I've got is a Rab long sleeve base layer.

Yep bit expensive but your getting top kit and amazing warmth next to your skin. team it with a fleece, and smock and you'll be warm, dry and still not look like a Michelin man!!
Other base layers are good and make a massive difference to keeping you warm instead of sweaty damp holding cotton tee shirts.

Nikwax wash is superb for waterproofing your kit BUT follow the instructions.
I'm a pretty crap fisherman ( just starting out) but never cold!!!
 
Just waterproofed my jacket with nikwax but havnt tested it out yet,
That base layer could be the answer
