well today was the first trip of the year,me and my dad left sunderland marina about 6 am.
decided to try a couple of wrecks instead of the hard ground ,everything great with the boat and electrics,first wreck not a nibble moved to another close to us ,was a net wright on top of it and two massive seals so moved to the next exactaly the same nets and seals lol,so off we set to the next one,first drop a codling about 4lb to me ,next drift another codling for me and a small ling about 5lb for my dad ,picked up a couple more before slack tide then nowt for a while so moved to another wreck ,as soon as the tide started pushing again straight in to cod picking up 1 a drift or so ,ended up with about 17 nice keepers all around 4-5lb and a couple around 8 lb best first days fishing of the year ive had ,let the good times begin !!!!!!!

Well done Les, thats a great first trip , and near perfect conditions, i was amazed how few boats were out when we left the marina at 7.45. Still not complaining though, more fish for us mate.

Presume the seals are there because of the easy pickings to be had with all the fish dead in the nets.
