Just for Norman - Fly fishing of the boat

Fly fishing off the boat for the mackerel, I bet it\'s mental, anyone tried it?

No but I have tried spinning with freshwater gear,mepps 4lb line and a spinning reel.That is mental.

closest I get ell was taking rookies out from work and giving them a trace with one hook ......... LOL makes it eaisier for me to unhook them

Me and the family were on Guide Me out of Seahouses last Wednesday. My wife and I had two boat rods out and a very light spinner with a toby type lure on for my 7 year old. When he got a bite my wife and I reeled in to help him land His fish you should have seen the rod bend, the look on my lads face as he fought this quite big makeral was amazing! It was landed and unhooked by my 6 year old daughter(she is not in to the fishing just the unhooking and putting back if too small). We also caught some cod on feathers and makeral baited pirks fished very close to the bottom

N1 Tommy, sounds like you all had a great time! Light spinning is always great fun but I\'d love to have a go with fly gear just to see how the Mack compare to trout on the same gear.
