Sure some lads will help you out on here,I would say you have plenty of choice on fishing spots from ashington, and trace wise, just like normal boat fishing daylights ect, would also try shads as well I use them all the time on the boat and get plenty of fish

Hi, just started kayak fishing and just wondering if anyone has any tips on tackle/bait to use and any good locations to go to?

If you havent already. Have a look at anglersafloat web site and go to venues plenty of posts on re launch and tactics including whitley blyth cambios newbiggin creswell hadson hauxley beadnell etc. (the tactics and advice in the venues is mainly for the summer. Winter fishing is more about scent then visual)

Also have a look at the lets meet section regular meets by local lads around 15 - 20 local members on that site.

All the advice you need on that web site including all the safety stuff....
