Kayak fishing off Blyth Piers

Well gutted I had to miss the trip up to Newton with the other lads as had some business to attend at midday so thought a quick trip of Blyth would be canny as thought a few mackerel might be iBn and fancied some for the table and also bait.
Arrived at Blyth about 8am and was a bit of a chop on with a light SE so thought might not be much doing and lads coming off the pier had had nothing at all.
Got out and setup just off the river mouth / pier and was into the mackerel within 10 minutes, After this it was action all the way with sometimes 3 at a time. Also had a small codling which went back and also quite a few sandeels.

Was amazing to see just by being out of casting distance from the pier that I was into the mackerel as did not see any pulled in off there.
Kept 15 in the end, few went back but was a great little session out and a fairly nice morning weather wise.

A few pics from the morning.

I hope they did not keep all 90 lol

yeah they did, the guy could bearly carry the bag, but they are good anglers and dont kill fish for the fun of it they were just stocking up on bait.
