Well I eventually bit the bullet and bought myself a kayak nearly two weeks ago. Thanks to dt1 and jeff who I pestered for a bit of advice. I just hope this weather changes sooner rather than later. I can't wait to get it in the water. It does not have scupper plugs with it. What is people's opinion on these do I need them or don't I. Roll on the good weather.

No need for scupper plugs, when you stop paddling you may get a small amount of water coming through, nothing to bother you. Soon as you start paddling again, the water will drain out. Plugging the holes, just allows splashes and paddle drips to fill the yak up.

I got two plugs for the front two scuppers next to my feet, bit of a mistake as while paddling out a small wave hit the front of the yak and the water did not clear, the Yak then felt heavy and slugish I needed to remove the plugs to clear the water. Might be better on a completly flat sea but personally I won't be using them again.
