Keeping peeler crab

bit of a big set up that is mate but i can see there dedicated:D:D
iknow most people keep them in a normal fish tank:D:D

I just hoy em in bait box size tubs, in tens, in the fridge on low, cover em with damp newspaper.
Then once a day put a couple of inches of fresh seawater in for an hour.
I don't lose many like this, and it suits me as I never have to keep more than 30 or so.:)

Looks canny but wouldn't trust them tanks without a lid. Been keeping crab for 30 years now and the one thing i've found about keeping crab they always manage to escape.
I would watch the temprature aswell i have to keep my tanks on the floor as mid sum
mer my shed can get so warm inside the water in the tanks gets to warm, the stone floor stops cool helps stop this.
As for keeping worms use a cat litter trays and a small air stone and alway in the fridge to keep them cold and at a constant temprature, as long as the water is kept clean and any dead ones are removed they keep for 2 or 3 weeks no problem

hi bandit i have been using this system for 5 year now and have had a little trouble with the little suckers getting out but I do have lids for when i have a lot in any 1 tank.As for the temperature i don't have a problem as i keep it quite warm and most of my crab are in the freezer long before our red hot summers lol.If I am keeping worms in the summer i do use a fridge but in the winter i always use tanks and have done for 30 years now rag worm will keep for 2 month no problem I wouldn't keep them that long now a day as I like my worms fresh. As for yellows which is the main bait i use along with crab, in my opinion are much better in a tank and will stay perfect for up to 2 weeks but will last longer
