I suppose this has been asked hundreds of times but am I right in saying it would be ok could keep rag worm in the fridge if its in an empty ice cream carton with a mix of peaty compost and sand or damp newspaper with holes in the lid for aeration. thanks for any info on this subject. Bob:):):)

I keep mine in a cat litter tray in the fridge with 1/4 inch of sea water they stay healthy for a couple of weeks change the water when it discolours abit drain them on newspaper before taking them fishing personally I take mine in vermiculite then when you take worm home vermiculite floats off worm when back in the water to be scooped out😉

Will it be ok to keep them in a container with lid on as wife is not too keen on me putting them in the fridge along with foodstuff .Only alternative would be to get a separate fridge for the shed

u better off with a bait fridge mate u can keep plenty of bait then and go fishing anytime u like but till then yea in a tub with lid with a couple of holes in top but don't put to many in the tub

put them in a cat litter tray with half inch of sea water into the fridge but not too cold ie setting 2 or thereabouts , room temp would kill them, laying them on damp sea watered newspaper works too in fridge , change paper now and again don't over crowd them tho they like to bite each other :)

Litter Trays with 5 to 10mm of Water changed every 2/3 days will keep Rag fit for Weeks.
They must have their Backs clear of the water so that they can take Air in as theres not much air in the Water unless you use a Pump.

When I used to dig them I had an old dinghy in the cellar with a couple of aerators rag one side and white the other used to keep for months
Now I just put some newspaper through the shredder and put the rag in a old box in the fridge
Wor lass not very happy like:D

funny u should say that mate I use all the junk mail shredded to dry them out when I go fishing better than just putting them on paper dries them right out and they go a deep red colour

i've kept rag for months in a tank of water with sea coal in to stop them going into a ball. at this time of the year i don't bother putting them in the fridge, it's cold enough in the garage.
