Kevin Keagan NEW Toon Boss

have been speaking to a few of the lads and his appointment is not universally popular! a few are quite concerned that he is out of touch. the manager has changed several times over the years but many of the backroom staff remain. (mcdermott et al). ashley will have to come up with REAL money to sort out the current shower!

I agree, not sure on this one like. As long as it lifts the players tho and keeps us safely away from the relegation zone we should have another look at the end of the season. We don't wanna get dragged into a relegation scrap under Keegan he will probably walk. Lets leave the boro nd the mackems to fight it out for the 3rd relegation place.

This has got to be good news. The ground has been getting quieter and quieter for the last few years and is or WAS flat as a pancake for atmosphere. The whole of toon is buzzing tonight!! Happy days:)

Sky are reporting that Shearer is to be the number 2...... but we've heard nowt so don't know where they got it from.

Shearer and Keegan don't get on to well to say the least.

What a day to appoint him though..... the removal men were clearing Allardyce's house at exactly the same time the news broke.

Not really Alan,

20 minutes work, paid for 8 hours and makes the papers tomorrow, better than hanging about in the cold on a chance :)

Scrapped the youth team, srapped the reserve team, blew a 12 point lead then left saying i dont enjoy it anymore, Spent 50 million quid and won nought and he walks back into the ground to a hero s welcome ????????????????????????????????????????????????????

well they did ok tonight, his first game as manager 4-1,lets hope the winning streak continues in the premiership

Like many fans, I suspect, I'm still trying to figure out whether or not this is a stroke of genius or a completely insane turn of events...

Ashley has clearly had his ear bent by the "clever lads" in the crowd...I suppose what he has done has built bridges in that regard by what is effectively (at this moment in time) a huge PR coup for the club

As to tonights result - it was nothing you shouldn't expect anyway given the "class" of our squad  but I also suspect there's a few lads s*****g themselves about a new regime coming in and perhaps played a little harder than in recent times?

I have to say that at least we saw attacking football again last night but in reality stoke are well below the toon in league standings and we should expect to give these teams a bashing. However im willing to give him a go it wont be long before we find out how in touch with football he is arsenal twice in a week.... good luck kev

Coleman certainly would'nt be my choice,i was surprised when he got the job in Spain,at least he's got a bit more hands on experience than Shearer :)
i'm pleased KK is back however he may not be the right man for the job, time will tell.Ashley just went with the flow and did what the fans wanted,to be honest i dont think there was a huge list of potential managers to choose from.
Its good for the local economy/area,plus everyone has got there eyes on the Sponsors logo's,Ashley is a businessman and very successful at that !
