just been down the river tyne estuary and gettin mesel a big bucket of rag for tomorrows fishing events. A must say there proper beauties now a just hope the hard work pays off and a actually catch sumthing.

I'm wanting to dig me own worm but never tried it. Can you still get rag/lug from the beach beside North Shields Fish Quay?, seen people digging there, but that was over 10 year ago. Been down Marsden today but counld'nt see any casts. Could anyone point me in the right direction as where to start?

yeah mate you can still get them from north sheilds they dont leave casts (ragworm) just dig amongst the rocks has to be a big tide though

I bet there was some nice ragworm to be had just to the left of the sand bank on the middens amongst the clay, only accessible on big tides like today.

I got some like this fella there a year or two back.

Bloody hell Kieth you don't thread that on the hook as bait you cast it out and it grabs the fish, wrestles it into submission then hoys it up onto the beach for you
