Its down to prefrence in heavy ground i like a poker stiffer the better but to fish over mixed ground something softer i found with a softer rod i.e a ss a m4 evo if a fish gives a pull down you cant stop it as easy as the tip bends and alows it with a poker you can bully it i am not a great caster but find the ss tip and m4 evo and bullet and a few other have thus problem the bullets and m4 evo are powerfull rods but not stiff there is a massive difference in a powerfull rod to a stiff tod

Then you get people who think that if a rod bends a little its no good. For me my fav rod for the heavy ground was my m4 evo untill it was stolen and I was unable to replace it.

i can remember fishing church point newbiggen one day i used a conoflex super flick tip yes a number of yrs back,on this day i had one of best bags of cod/codling.

by todays standards this rod would be called a floppy stick no doubt but it did the job and would do now.

as said earlier its ones own opion and what one likes to use himself.

when you mention (you people} it would be boring if we were all the same of course in my opion.
