Last night Sheilds 24/6/2011

Had a look down last night the water was as black as Tea, dont know if kielder had been opened or just rain water but the river and seaward side was black, so didnt fancy my chances much, didnt hear of anything coming in further up apart from the odd coalie, set up near the rail end with the light gear after a few chucks pulled in a dab. Then moved down near the first gate had a couple a casts a few small bites but nowt, walked off about midnight, a lad fishing down from the hole in the wall had a codling about 2lb mark, best i saw last night.

unlucky a least you didnt blank it was the same story on the lower tyne estuary last night me and shaun went spinning for pollock of the back wall we both blanked, and there was the odd fish being pulled in on bait all under sized

It was the same yesterday morning on the pier mate, the water was black, we tried bait fishing, float fishing and spinning. We only had a jelly fish from 8am -1pm lol, miserable days fishing. At least you did better than us.

i was there friday night from about 8pm til 1am and got 2 rocklings in the whole time i was there. I was going to do my first catch report on this site but it was a slightly dissapointing night in terms of fishing, but good to get out
