well once again me and dave decided to head out again last night we arrived at the huegh shortly after 1700 and was greated by a nice swell rolling in we both started fishing at the end up on the top using just gutted blacks and some cracking rag and razor we thought we would of been into fish how wrong we where not a single bite all night for me and dave was saved from a blank with the smallest rockling i have ever seen we headed over to the middleton to try an hour over low water had a couple small rattles but that was it

i told u it had gone quite daz, but u said u new a mark that produces fish hahahaha . i had 6 chucks last nyt in a nice gulley i no using crab and cart. results 1 measly coaly.

Read on here somewhere that cod are feeding on Sandeel Daz so thats why there are no fish about. I was going to come down on my days off but think i,ll leave it for a while.

Mick.

I was also fishing the end of the Heugh from around 13:30hrs to 18:00hrs using fresh razor and ragworm. Managed a tiny flatty and that was it.
Fished Seaham Hall the evening before using fresh rag & lug plus frozen mackerel / black lug & prawns - once again - nowt.

It's usually January when the cod disappear, but fishing Tynemouth pier in a club match yesterday, there was no whities, only 1 small codling, and 4 flatties weighed in.:(:( all species seem to have disappeared:confused:. So it doesn't matter how good a bait we chuck at them, cant catch what's not there:(

Seems to be a waste of time, effort, fuel & bait at the moment. Wish it was otherwise cos I'm itching to get out, but just seems futile at the mo.

Shame, but it's a waiting game.
