Late catch report

Me, Phil (phill_itofish) and Carl (SnaggedUpLad) fished the big beach early Sunday morning 5am

First fish was an undersized Bass for me, was only about 36cm so was returned but was still happy for the catch.

And Phil got a nice Coalie

Phil got a tiddler whitey after that and things died off after the sun came up
so we moved to the walkway

Massive pull in the river, hardly holding the bottom

Phils first of 2 size Codling, a pound or slightly under but size

and his second, close to a pound and a half

All fish caught were on yellows
No monsters or huge bags, but still a great mornings fishing

canny day out lads.
ive never fished the big beach yet. Is any place along there as good as another or are there any particular favourites to head for.

Not really sure mate, we had a little recce of the beach at low tide and found a canny hole so went back there at high.

That is always the best way Simon, I would imagine it is the same as Blyth beach. I haven't fished it for a long time but had some good results from the very south corner by the pub. Holes can shift about a bit so always worth a recce first.

you and me both mate i've been next to him when he's pulled them in, fishing the same hole with the same bait, still never got mine yet think Sigs is on to 4 now.
