With the weather good this morning decided go out for a mackerel . Gave Ken a ring, and met up at Cullercoats. Arrived at the tide line half a mile off the Tyne piers, and after a few minutes were into a few mackerel. They were mostly Joey's. Then headed to some of the close in wrecks little further out, but just lost gear on every drop
Headed back in to some different wrecks, me using prawn, and Ken using frozen large softies. Ken got three nice cod, one after another, between 3-5lb, then I locked into a nice rod bender of around 7lb. Then Ken was into a sporting fish, his call was a Pollack, which was correct , between 8-9lb.
We ended up with 18 nice cod calling it a day at that.
Doing this for the first time on my mobile phone, and have no idea how to upload photo's

Nice report Arthur, yes we found the drift on Sunday was eating gear up.

Nice one mate

nice report and some nice fish too--the large mackarel that were around seem to have dispersed????

No mate. Had a wander along the pier today and lads were bagging up on mackerel and the majority being pretty large. Bit of a mix of sizes but plenty of large ones around
