Lead Weights

Areet Fellas, now I dont know if its with me being relatively new to the sport or what, but i seem to have went from having a box full of weights to having none at all over my last few trips! I can only blame the Shields Walkway so much. I am wondering is there much to making your own weights or would you advise me against it? If not are there any tackle shops selling for what you thing is a good deal...ive been paying £1.10 for a 6oz Gripper up till now...
