can anyone reccomend a fisherman freindly scrap yard to get hold of lead yard I have been using is becoming less keen to sell small quantaties.?ps live in north shields.

I dont know any around your way but in felling gateshead, ther eis 1 called Rooneys and the lads that work there are fisherman.I get my lead from there as you can pick what you want and its at a good price.

i use rooneys aswell his price is 40p a kilo dont no if they sell small amounts as i buy 300kilo at a time

I rang round them all about a week before Christmas looking for lead.

Nobody seemed to have any or at least didn\'t want to sell small amounts, £50 worth.

The only place I found that had any was Roonys in Gateshead ( apart from KeithB that is ) who seemed helpful enough.

I got 4 stone last time i was at rooneys and they never mnded at all.cant help you with the number,i just drive there as its only 5 mins away.

Ron rooneys yard is in southshore road as richy said they are more than helpful they even cut a load of pipe into 6inch lengths for me once

Ron, If he\'s got non give me a shout and I\'ll see what I can do, I know a lad who get\'s lead for me and I pay him £10 for about 5 stone
(works out roughly the same as C & M) but it\'s always clean flashing.

I don\'t know what weight it was Keith but I do know about the blisters on my hands after cutting it all up and the kids moaning about how many pirks they have to paint.

I was well chuffed with the lead.
