leader knots

just wondering wot knots u guys use for yer shock leader and do u use different knots for different places and wot knot do u use for hooks again is it horses for courses or is it the same wot ever hook or mark just bought a knot book it`s got loads of knots just wondering wtich ones are popular just learned the bimmini twist prity easy after your first go feels strong

in my opinion the best shock leader knot to use over rough ground,alough when snagged the line can break on the lighter line well above the shock leader.but that said it is in my first choice keader knot.

Over clean/mixed ground I use the blob knot which has never let me down. On the rough it\'s just 35lb straight through.

i use that wrap round 5 times loop it through knot on both leader and hooks
cos its the only one i know lol

Sounds like your talking about a half blood knot bri. I find that it is ok for hooks but not for shock leader. You will manage ok tying lines of equal poundage with a full blood knot but I would not risk it with shock leader. I prefer to use a grinner Knot, it has never let me down yet and is easy to tie when you are fishing.

bimini twists are the strongest imho.

The thing I like most about the blob knot is that it is very small and tidy - less weed on the knot and less resistance as it passes through the rings.
