Leader Knots

Hey guys what type of knot do you's use to tie your shockleader? Mine seem a bit weak, the other day I was trying to get some weed of the line and the leader just snapped, what knots would you's suggest?

Sorry Steve but IMHO the Bimini is complete overkill for pretty much every shore fishing situation. It is also a PITA to tie and certainly no use on a freezing beach in the middle of winter.

I use the old fashioned overhad / uni-knot. Dead easy to tie and it's never let me down. Another easy one is the Albright knot.

I agree with this, 20lb sensor with 60lb shocker and its absolutely solid. Was using it the other night and the hooks were bending out before the line was snapping. sakuma manta's aswell

Me and a mate tried for a week to master the bimini knot and couldnt get it.

In the end we opted for an overhand knot in the shockleader and 5 turn grinner in the mainline.

Bimini for me too, simple to tie once you know how and well worth the effort! There's a couple of refinements that make the knot even better as well!!

Bimini for me too

gone are the days of the 30+ reel line as well, all i now use id 20 suffix tritaiinium and a 60 lb leader gives you distance when needed

bimini 4 me 2 easy 1's u get the hang of it & there is an easy'er & quicker way 2 do a different knot that is the same & just as strong as the bimini if u do end up having 2 rig up again on the beach.
make a 2-3 inch loop between finger & thumb, then make a much longer loop around 10-12 inches long & wrap the big loop round & round ya finger & thumb then pass the end of the long loop through the short loop u started with & pull slowly so that every turn u done round ya finger & thumb comes off in order that u wrapped it on and wet & pull tight, u r left with the twisted loop a bit like the bimini & very strong. it sounds complicated but easy with practice.
u can make the long loop as long as u want 2 get more twists in the loop but it is not neccessary the sml'er the better i only do 4-5 turns & make loops as sml as poss.
bill.
