Led lenser h14???

Bought one of these and was wondering if anyone knows if there would be any problems if I used rechargeable batteries in this I do t want to void guarantees or what type of recharge bales I could use ie- nimh or mah batteries out would help cheers

most rechargeables are of a less voltage so as to avoid power spikes from a fresh recharge , a 1.5 v aa or aaa in rechargeable form will be only 1.2 v , i have used rechargeables in cree lamps without issue .

Sanyo eneloop in 2500 mah or Philips multi-life 2700 mah. (Nickel metal hydride) Nimh in AA. Use both in lenser h14.

Go for a decent make in the highest mah. Wouldnt use anything less than 2000mah still be as bright but just wouldnt last long.

Also invest in a digital charger with discharge function to keep batteries strong and memory free.

i have 2 different lensers and not have a problem and i use a variety
of batteries in fact i use 6 diifferent type.heres a pic of them

if there AA or AAA then you can just use any rechargeable, the higher the mAh the longer the batteries will last and the more expensive they are, but you can use any mAh, just match the battery size.

Alkaline batteries are 1.5v purely because that's what voltage that chemical reaction give out, same for the 1.2v for NiHM its not about having a lower voltage for power spikes.

if your lenser has a battery pack that's 3 AAA batteries in a line you could always opt for a lithium battery pack replacement, lithium will last a lot longer and unlike NiCAD or NiHM the voltage will stay at a constant till the end of the battery so you will always have a bright light rather than a dull light at 50% capacity.

afaik if a rechargeable was 1.5 v as standard, after a good charge they can go as high as 1.7v for a short time, hence a 1.2 v should be a stable 1.5v for a while after a good charge ,it was proven years ago that rechargeables were damaging products after a good charge ,so were made slightly lower as standard. :question: anyone know of an adapter to turn 3x1.2v batteries into a 18650 battery pack ?????????????

Hope these Lensers are OK, just bought the H14R / 7499R off e-bay - 105lb delivered.
Also got some 3500mAh ni-mh rechargeables, could,nt resist giving them a go !!!!!!!!!!!
