Leeda Icon, Match or Power

Im thinking about getting another rod for the beach so I want something that goes the distance over clean ground. I've already got an axcellerator, so I dont need another stiff rod.

Everyone seems to rate the Icons, so I might go for one of those, but not sure whether to go for the Match or Power. I'm thinking the Match as it will only be used on clean ground, but will it be too floppy - I dont want it bouncing up and down in the wind and the surf.

And does anyone know if any of the local shops have them in stock?

cheers chris, do you how stiff the Power is compared to the RT Axe?

The ultra power isn't as stiff as the accelerator the power should be spot on for you want . I think nets has them in try there .

the power is a top rod doesn't move in wind and has enough backbone to pull the plug out and also has great bite detection

Nowhere near as stiff..the RT axe is a broom shank with guides
Andy add "Paul Fenech fishing" on facebook and he will guide you in the right direction..he done the write up on the new ones in sea angler.
I know NETS stocked the original leeda icons but im not too sure about the new one

Cheers for the other replies as well lads. If the Ultra Power is softer than an Axe, it might be worth getting a Power rather than the Match.

Got both the power and ultra power if you want to have a look a them there the mk ones if you want so you no what there like

I was looking at one at the weekend as I am thinking of buying one myself.
the tackle shop at seaham has only got the one in stock but there sister shop at Hartlepool have the full range in stock £149.99

I've put a catch report on.

The rod bends a lot when casting, but really flings the lead out. It's rated as 6oz but I only used 5oz and was getting further than I ever have with all the cheaper rods I've had. It was windy but the tip wasn't getting knocked about, so really happy with it (it would be no good for dragging through kelp though!)

I used it with the slosh 20 I got off you; it's spot on mate, cheers.

u should have went for the ultra power mate u can use it anywhere bite detection is 2 nd to none and has the power to pull through kelp and rocks I use mine all over and never had any probs

No need for the ultra power..He wanted a rod for fishing clean beaches
