Lesvos/Lesbos Greece - + southern report

Ignoring my request to go to Norway or Iceland, the missus has booked a week on Lesvos in September. I've never been to any of the greek islands. Anyone got any idea of what may be available from the shore?

Kent coast has been fishing well for thornback ray this year. Spring is generally slow with micro species dominating...dabs, rockling, pin whiting and pout. Bass and sole just starting to show. I've mainly been fluff chucking at Bewl, but am just about to start my summer bass fishing.

Any advise on Greek islands most appreciated.

i was there a few years ago mate and a lot of the locals were on the beach where we were, they were using bread pieces on a floating rig and they were getting some lovelly sized garfish.

I have fished a few of the greek islands in the past and bread seems to be the most common bait, bacon fat is another bait which seems to work for fish that look like small bass (usually around the 1lb mark) in the rocky areas.I have seen locals on many of occasions using heavy gear for large rays from the shore- not sure what type as there is only so much that can be found out using hand signals :D . There is also alot of fishing trips on charter boats - some of which produce good fish and are usually cheap.

I did piont out to her the "nature" of a lot of the other female holiday makers there. I'm taking a camera thats for certain!

Fishing wise...looks like mullet as usual...unless someone knows different?
