I used to fish Cambois Pier at the lighthouse and it was a nightmare trying to get fish up the side both by hand and reel, there is just no space to maneuver so a drop net was the thing to use.
Makes me wonder why people on a pier would laugh at a guy walking on with a drop net, I've seen a few fish lost on the pier because of hook or line snapping. A 20ft drop and a net would be the best way getting your fish, I don't have 1 yet myself (I get laughed enough for not catching lol) but thinking hard about getting 1.
I can see me 1 day with my light spinning gear hooking a monster, I can dream.

I remember fishing next to a guy early in the year on the end of shields.. Line snapped on the lift of a estimated 6+lb cod.. He kept swearing lots and shouting about "THE F*#KING DROP NET IS IN THE B*ST#*D VAN ANARL!!"
