light mono mainline with braid leader knott

if using a 8lb mono mainline, instead of buying tapered leaders would a braid leader be ok and if so whats the smallest strong knott to join them

I've used 8lb sensor bimmni twist to tapered mono leader and it's amazingly strong. Even used it on the bottom of shield pier near the first gate fishing for plaice and lost next to no gear.

I don't think the join between light mono and braid would be very strong tbh. I use the rule of braid to braid, mono to mono. Obviously bass plugging and on the boat is different and a short mono leader is sometimes good.
