Brian Hurst has sent me this pic of a lightship he spotted in Dublin Harbour in November.
He remembers seeing a lightship which used to be berthed on the North side of the Tyne when he was a young\'n, (so we\'re talking about a LONG time ago..lol), and thinks it may be the same one.

Anybody recall seeing this lightship in the Tyne.........?

Cheers TC - i am sure when i fished the concrete pier at Vidor batteries (before they fenced it, the horrible *%$£\" ) this lightship was on the North side ,maybe the fish quay area or just a bit further up river - maybe someone a bit older than 36, might remember it, or maybe it was just the battery fumes and it is a figment of my then 11 yr old imagination.

When i worked on the trawlers at Shields in the early eighties there was a lightship just up the quay from the icehouse (200 yds or so),seemed to be there for a long time.EARLY EIGHTIES jeez am i really that old,seems like last week.
