Like a May Weekend day

Have you thought about a spinning rod and fixed spool reel Rich?

Thats what I am going to do this year. It also means you can cast away from the boat easier.

Last Summer the water about 50 yards from my dinghy was boiling with loads of fry being attacked from below. By the time I had motored over they had gone, put off by my ngine no doubt. With a spinning rod I would have been able to cast to them with a spinner.

Cheers,
Geoff

I have tried one last year close in and had mackerel and small pollack and codling on lures, great fun..after a light jigging rod thou...will keep my eyes open.

Not had an offer like that for a while Jason lol

I may buy the new fat grub twin tails in orange and black to give me something new to try but at a cost of £7 for 4 i wont be using them often :)

I heard the echo is still bouncing about, it has reached Italy now :)

No comps this year lads just lazy fishing days, hope you got some new gear to try as i have nothing new to mess with this year.

Still looking for a new light rod 10-12lb class but not found one that is better than what i am using already.

Rich, Have a look at the Sonik sk3 12-20lb. Ive just bought one from I.D. tackle, It feels and looks great and pleanty action in it.
