Hello been using 18lb night crystal recently, and have found it very strong even in pulling out of snags however once it has pulled out once the next little snag it's just snapping anyone else found this?

Good mono pighunter, never had any probs with that gear meself, used to use the red 16lb/.33mm a lot,but just a bit thin for my local venues(clay/mixed ground)lovely supple mono n casts great:)

I find it stretches far too much and too easy.. So instead of breaking amd weakening just one point it lowers the breaking strain of the full line

Yea that just about sums up what It's doing I have ever never fished with it before now I have cast it over grass loads just never fished

Yeah.. I liked it for casting but garbage for fishing.. Obviously each to their own

Same here. Used it on all my field reels, had a kilo spool so decided to try it for fishing as well. Found it absolute garbage for shingle beach fishing, zero abrasion resistance so even after just a session or two it would start snapping like Red Ice.

Hahahahaha good old red ice.. Snaps easier than bait elastic

Agree with that... I found it stretched aswell so it is then quite a lot weaker for the next snag that you hit. Think that's a fairly common issue with all monos though

i had the Berkley XTS Salt water Red Line on a reel and found that if you get even a small snag it will pull out but when you wind your line in you can see the stretch in it as it turns like a whitey pink colour and seems to have small frays on line, which i was disappointed at as after each snag i had to keep cutting it off.
now using berkley big game and not had a problem with it so far.

I've found if you get a kink in the line off picking out an over run it's as you say utter pants.yes you can go down the same root sensor no's 1,it's good line but I find the dia is just to much for me,suffix/gardiner good dia takes plenty stick and takes a good pull for the break.

Although sensor os fairly thick I reckon it breaks at higher than rated.. So it means where you would normally use for example a thinner 18lb line like night crystal.. You could use 15lb sensor and get better performance

I normally use big game and that only but thought it would use some of the line up I don't use I like that hard skin but it's a little stretchy. I don't like sensor anymore used to love the stuff but think it's data and find big game stronger

I`ve used Red Ice on my reels for the past 3 years and had no problems whatsoever, I only use it on my small ABU multipliers to fish the open beaches at Cresswell and Druridge bay, but I`ve never had the line snap. Probably different for fishing the rocky marks, but as I rarely do that I`m not going to change to a different line.

it just dos,nt seem to be a decent fishing line heard lots of probs on other forums about it.

stick to the likes of berkley trilene/daiwa sensor you wont go wrong

sakuma aint good for field or fishing. big game is strong but most tow ropes usually are, correctly trying tritanium neon gold stuff, so jury is still owt... all lines have more cos than pro;s imo
