Don't need a FS reel to use braid although it's more used on them than a multiplier.
I have it on both types of reel and much prefer it.
OK personal preference but it's for a reason.
1st is that it's a lot thinner for the strength of line so casts easier, doesn't bow as much in the wind or water and best of all it's so sensitive you can even see the twitches on the line from crabs.
Best bit of all though is that you can use much stronger line than normal and manage to pull free from some snags where you'd lose rigs/leads otherwise.
If you ain't tried it you really have to. If you have and don;t like it then you're probably doing something wrong.
Oh, 1 final thing. The occasional birds nest I get can usually be sorted out in a couple of minutes as the braid doesn't stretch and pull into itself the way mono does.
