i know its been done many times before i expect ,just wondered what line you use for mainline and for hooklengths
ive been using suffix and ultima clear 30lb -35lb for rock marks and find it very good ,and have been using ammnesia clear for my snoods .i was using coloured line but i,m not 100% confident in it as im sure fish can see it in daylight

kenny patterson for hooklengths :D ultima f1 for mainline and greased weasel for shockleader Ive used the tapered shock leaders before and prefer them for tying but theyre twice the length they should be

30lb Trilene straight through.
Mainly use pulley rigs - so it\'s 25lb Amnesia (clear) for the sinker with 25lb (black) for the hook.
Reason I use a different colour for the weight / hook lengths is:-
I know there\'s something sharp and pointy at the end of the black line......makes life much easier (and safer) when sorting out any tangle.
Even when not using pullies, I always use the black for the hook length.......just habbit, I suppose.

Just use me Red ice for the hook length and Ron Thompson shock leader for my weight, bright yellow. Have tried clear and black for the hook lengths but I find it makes no difference at all. I actually seem to catch more on the Red Ice.

Jim.

30lb izorline for my main.
used to use amnesia but have switched to 40lb mustad hook length, its half the price, knots better, has less memory and is more abrasive resistant imho
penn tuff stuff for a leader when i use one.

I use 30lb or 35lb Yo-Zuri or 30lb Trilene big game,25lb Amnesia hook lenghs and 60lb shockleader bodies,
18lb Trilene big game and 60lb shockleader for lighter beach fishing

18lb penn super surf mainline greased weasel shocker60lb greased weasel 60lb trace lenths and amnesia 20/or 30lb for tough stuff lol

4olb trilene mainline 40 lb amnesia hook about 9 inches long both tied to the top of the swivel then 40 lb amnesia about 2 foot from the bottom of the swivel to the grip lead the trilene is stronger than the amnesia thus if youve hooked a fish and your snagged the amnesia will snap first but with this type of tackle u wont lose much gear anyway even in the roughest ground

30lb Red Ice straight thru....tried dozens of different lines and find red ice has some of the best abrasive resistant qualities, excellent line for the price

gordon that izorline is supposed to be the bizz ,talked to a bloke the other week who was using it and he swears by it ,did you get yours from the states ?,thats where his came from ;)

I use ultima grey 60lb shockleader for both my rig bodies and actual shockleaders. I use diffrent strengths of Amnesia (but mainly 30lb), all in clear for my snoods. If using tapered leaders i use greased weasel and my main line varies, but i replace it every couple of sessions so it is usually cheapish.
Was intrested to read about using diffrent coloured snoods. Has anyone else any experiance with these?
And do those who think colour doesn\'t matter fish mainly at night, or day as well?

Geoff I fish mainly at night but sometimes during the day. I have tried just about every colour of line there is and still have caught more fish on the red ice mate.

Jim.

I think its debatable whether the colour of your line makes a difference,I prefer to use yellow Yo-zuri as I can see it better in the dark, plus its class line as well

yes i agree alan ,its easy to see at night ,ive only recently changed to clear or grey lines because ive been fishing a lot of rock marks during the late summer, and twice i saw fish run away from a coloured line, the clear just gave me a bit more confidence ...lol ;)
