Little beach 1/2/13

Fished today the first time in while so i decided to give the little haven beach south shields a try I fished 11-3 bait used lug, razor, bluey, squid but not even a bite I spoke to a couple of lads one said its been poor and the other lad set up along the beach from me but not sure if he had any luck, never mind still enjoyed it and got some fresh air

Yeah im working this weekend but got a few days off next week hope the wind stays away want to get some fishing time in

Love fishing that beach. Small hooks and baits normally gets fish al beit being small.

Just think what would you prefer going fishing and catching nowt or sitting in the house with the misses.
I know what I would pick and I wouldn't be with her indoors.

A few of us fished there last night and not many fish at all and biggest only into the 20s cm. I had about 7 out. They were codling, coalies and flatties. Was just trying my new j curve out. Crazy light rod which feels like a strong match rod with a very responsive tip and you could feel the bites through the rod off the small fish. Beside that though it feels like it would handle throwing a 6 ounce weight and handle fish of a few pound with ease. On first impressions century have got their new mix of carbon spot on

At least you's got some fish mate did you lose much gear it was very snaggy the big tides have taken a lit of sand off the beach

Hi mate. Had a look up there last week as wanting to try a few new spots. What are the best times and conditions to fish? Also had a drive into car park and seen a few lads fishing. Do you need a ticket, is there parking wardens about often? Any advice would be appreciated.

You need a parking ticket it's £1 all day nov - end of feb then £3 all day till end of oct and the parking wardens ste very active in south shields for the the fishing I've had better results during the spring and summer from that beach but I thought I'd give it a try yesterday but blanked

When flat a very short cast is usually most productive. We've had some cracking sessions off there in the summer with loads of sized codling (only just sized mind). Small baits, hooks and casts are defo the trick there
