Little fatty at the ouseburn

Planned to go to the walkway today with my son and brother paulanth68 got up 6am wind howling rain belting decided to see if weather would inprove. 10am decided just to go local to use the bait up we had got down ouseburn about 11ish.Wind was still howling and the tide was strong bringing the lines right in and pulling all weed in.Nowt much happening for the 1st few hours then the last hour of the flood in come the whiting,i was 1st to catch 32cm,then few more sized whiting.cast out again rod bobbed in it came "ooooh bit weight on this prob more crap!"then up popped this big fat white belly, handballed it up,hooked nicely thro lip.it had a huge belly on it,not the longest fish but god it was chubby..weighed in at 3lb 2oz:D NEW PB:D:D
Bait was bluey.
Good day for all,ended up with 7 in total,6 returned safely:)

not just well done on the fish....but well done on your first ever cod mate!...and what a belta to get it all started...cracking report and also i got some lead here for you to make me some weights haha..ofc you can have a few for your labour! :D

and i can just seen paul was green with envy when you pulled that in! lol
 
i had a 4 n half pounder just down the road from that last week. also a PB for me:D river is producing some belta fish at the mo
 
aye welldone mate were you at st peters i fished there yesterday morning with me son first three hours of flood got one undersized coddy and that was it blowing a gale but still enjoyed it
