Stuck in London. Excited about the prospect of cod at xmas when I get home since there seem to be loads being caught. So my question is this... Will they still be there? Is this good season because codling stocks are a bit better?... Cheers.
judging by the size of most the cod had an successful spawn, wouldnt say the cod situation is fixed though. already they starting to thin out but on plus side there is some better sized fish starting to show.
I live in London too (previously L.A for 4 years....sharks off the beach galore)and this weather system is driving me nuts with the thought of the cod out there.Im back at xmas and although I normally go up north to Newbiggin I reckon its all pretty unpredictable and you have to treat it tide by tide. The river is always the best bet for bites and on a cold night you do need the odd bite to keep the dream alive. If you get a chance try private beach at newbiggin ..get that right and you will have a bag full,Ive had a 6 pounder there on a 30 yard cast.
