I live in bedlington and just started to sea fish again, went down to the cambios jettys the other day but was poor, the only places i know are the flatty pool down near the buccaneer, blyth peer, and jettys, where else is good for fishing in local area

Your in a good area for good fishing spot's, blyth, cambois, lynemouth, cresswell all have hotspots, but without putting the time in you will never know where can produce good catches.

Read the catch reports regularly - you'll get a good idea of what is fishing and when.

This time of year, I do like the Wansbeck estuary and mouth for flatties, blyth pier for mackeral.

For a bit of fun get a little rod and reel from somewhere like the pound shop, some small floats and very light line - go fish a rockpool with tiny hooks (crimp the barbs so you can release easily).... sounds daft but I used to love doing that, some beautiful small species in them. Couple of nice deep pools at S/Sluice we used to go to in the summer. Take a camera that can take good macro close-up shots, see how fast your species catch list grows!

Wait till September-Nov and hit the beaches at night mate when theres a nice dying sea running. Shouldn't lose much gear and u will see planty of anglers catching fish if u get out.

might give it a shot down the flatty pool, this week sometime,i used strips makeral the other time i went down to jettys but didnt get nothing, ive ordered some packs of frozen lug,so might give those a try down there
