Loch Etive Today

Headed up to the windsock today with my dad and a couple of my uncle's
Arrived just after 1100, we should have arrived a little early but had a wee accident just after Taynuilt when the car in front slammed the breaks on right at the little train bridge, anyway after screwing back on the registration plates and exchanging documents we were on our way along the track towards the wind sock in lovely sunshine and a little breeze.
The 1st hour was slow with just 1 missed bite for me and alot of bait stripping crabs around then a few dogs between us by 1300 best being only 1lb 11oz

I was in the middle of baiting up my da's rod as he decided to go for a kip in the sun when I seen my rod "see saw" on the tripod and pretty much knew I was into a Spur, after a few runs and a few hairy moments in the kelp jungle I managed to land my first "double figure" Spur from the shore weighing in at 10lb1oz

Things went quiet again for a while then around 1430 my uncle caught another nice Spur at 10lb12oz which looked to be ready to drop pups any day.
As we were packing up at 1600 my other uncle got 1 a little smaller but still a very nice fish at 8lb8oz to round off a nice day.

Great day out, great weather, had a few laughs and a new PB for me :D
Cannae beat it :)

Cheers

fishing etive next week probably 4 days, starting 2 weeks holiday from work on friday, planning on driving up there on monday but keeping an eye on the weather forcast. hoping to fish a few different marks, windsock, church, priory etc. never fished etive before but been doing plenty reading up on the place, hope i get a spur like the one in the piccy and hopefull of a few thornies too. just going to rough it in the car and bivvy since i'll mainly be fishing nights so bit of a waste of money going b&b, really looking forward to it, love fishing a new venue.

Don't blame you for looking forward to it mate :) I usually go up every few weeks and still look forward to it every trip, the windsock isn't really known for producing the Thornies but I have had a couple over the years, my uncle got a 14 1/2 lb Spur a few weeks back which was 1 of 3 fish for a basket of 32lb :o
It's a cracking part of the country and the scenery is brill, if you do a bit of boat fishing you can hire out small self drive boats too.
I hope you have a great time mate :)
Might even be up there when you are !

My camera got broken in Spain last week and only had my mobile for piccies :(
By the white adjust, if Swilsons your referring to the multi colours on my shoulders/arms it really is multi coloured lol I got a bit burnt on the holiday and that's where the skin peeled off lol, had to get treated for 1st degree burns to my feet when I got back
