Headed up to the windsock today with my dad and a couple of my uncle's
Arrived just after 1100, we should have arrived a little early but had a wee accident just after Taynuilt when the car in front slammed the breaks on right at the little train bridge, anyway after screwing back on the registration plates and exchanging documents we were on our way along the track towards the wind sock in lovely sunshine and a little breeze.
The 1st hour was slow with just 1 missed bite for me and alot of bait stripping crabs around then a few dogs between us by 1300 best being only 1lb 11oz
I was in the middle of baiting up my da's rod as he decided to go for a kip in the sun when I seen my rod "see saw" on the tripod and pretty much knew I was into a Spur, after a few runs and a few hairy moments in the kelp jungle I managed to land my first "double figure" Spur from the shore weighing in at 10lb1oz
Things went quiet again for a while then around 1430 my uncle caught another nice Spur at 10lb12oz which looked to be ready to drop pups any day.
As we were packing up at 1600 my other uncle got 1 a little smaller but still a very nice fish at 8lb8oz to round off a nice day.
Great day out, great weather, had a few laughs and a new PB for me
Cannae beat it
Cheers
