saw a couple of brass monkey earlier, desperately searching for a welder

blimey it's cold, just been out with the little digital barometer/anonometer boaty thing - minus 17!! with the wind/windchill factor it came up at a rather bracing minus 25!!!! :D:D:D

river has frozen over now, which is a first, considering it is a fast flowing river with most of the water coming from deep under ground!
 
Now is the time you will really appreciate those thick walls around you Mark. It was -9 here when I first thought to look this morning (10:30) It is positively balmy here in Consett compared to your place just showing -6 now :D :D :D

aye, the house is toasty, if it burns it goes in the rayburn!

don't suppose you know if the stanhope/castleside road has re-opened yet??

was still closed yesterday morning I believe

go to try get out somehow this weekend, cabin fever setting in, and the fridge/freezer/cupboards starting to look a bit bare...
 
Sorry Mark I haven't heard a thing mate, if I do I will let you know though. I still can't get my car out, if I was fit it would take a few minutes, never mind it will save me money on fuel :D :D. I MUST go into Consett tomorrow though, so will ring my youngest son to see if he can come and taxi me for a wee while lol. Not bothered about food, I will leave that till next week some time, probably enough to last at least a couple of weeks yet and I should be able to get some milk round the corner. At least we can do that for emergencies you have to travel miles, if you can.
