Hi Vinny, welcome aboard. Keep an eye one WSF and YBW websites, both have a section for selling boat gear. If you’re on a tight budget have a look for a combined plotter/fishfinder.
Linking’s list is worth following, I’d add a radar reflector, first aid kit, tool kit and also the only thing you are legally obliged to carry – an illustrated set of SOLAS life saving signals. There’s more good advice on the RNLI website and they also offer a free, informal safety check for your boat.
At this time of year, look on the Admiralty charts for rough ground to fish and don't feel the need to head offshore to deep water.
We’re looking forward to reading your catch reports. Enjoy your Seahog, it’s a great boat, not that I’m biased because I started with one.

Hi there, when I bought my first boat(Wilson flyer 90hp:D:D) I just used to go out with no plotter or fish finder as i was skint off buying the boat and fuel lol,but i always had good fish and lots off them,if you look on ordinance survey maps they show you inshore wrecks which can be marked from land points, other than that just have a drift about I'm sure you won't be disappointed, life jackets on fleabay for 30-40 notes,I might know someone who's selling a couple actually,I will see him tomorrow for you,Dave

welcome 2 the site vinnyjab, if your going to sea m8, a would`nt be looking 4 a load of cheap gear. when ya 4/5 mile offshore and your gear fails , a can`t imagine it being a very nice feeling.
