Just read a catch report on boat fishing forum a lad was out on the kayak and was saying he couldnt get past the mackerel.....i know i will be avoiding the piers now hahaha or might go for a day to stock up on macky for bait and thats it

Anyone had any mackerel off there this year yet? Or in recent days?

I havn't caught one yet this year.

I was on the boat tues and it was a full house most drops. Some big mackerel too. The water is still a bit coloured so it needs to settle a little.

We were out off amble today and it was 3 or 4 at a time and like Chukka said there was some big ones, couldnt get past them for any decent fish you get sick after a while.

I rode my MTB along Roker pier today about lunch time and there was no one on the pier except a few on the roundhead, no sign of the hoards of scratters "macky bashing" just yet.
