Lovely day, but fishing slow.

Headed out of cullercoats at 11.30 with the mist just starting to lift. Headed to the hard ground for a few hours. Tried with lug and squid with no takes. So tried a pirk as water clarity wasn't to bad surprisingly, and second drop picked up a nice codling. Had a few more knocks on the rod but no more takes. Still early days, but what a lovely day to be out. Sunny and flat seas, doesn't get much better. Could of done with a few more fish but good to give the boat a good run out. Nice to catch up with Arthur [canman] who was out as well.

nice one!!!! pal of mine mentioned rippers taking a fish or two in clear water--just shows--if you dont go you will never know:)

Well done getting one out Mark, and yes, it was glorious out there., even though I blanked, the weather made up for it:red::red:

Well done finding a fish Mark, it seems to have gone very quiet just now. Perhaps the fish are spawning and will be back in ravenous numbers soon.

Arthur, that's not something I ever expected to read, fishing must be hard.

In my defence Kevin, I was using the wrong length trace, with the wrong breaking strain in the wrong colour, the sun was shining too bright in the area I was fishing. Oh! And the worms were too big:rolleyes::rolleyes:
