Fished my first night session last night, enjoyed it even though i blanked!! I have fished for many years but only recently turned to sea & shore, all of my sessions have been Blyth beach this year during the day and have been quite successful flatties and bass. I would like to broaden my horizons and fish different marks/beaches, i really struggled in the dark last night though.
Are there any decent marks i can fish during the day to get used to so it makes it easier in the hours of darkness? Any help appreciated:confused:
P.S nothing too challenging though lads (need to learn to walk before i can run:D)

Whitley Bay beach is a good shot at low water at night with a good sea on. Park at the Rendezvous cafe and head straight through and down onto the beach.
You will be best going at low water during the day on a good size tide so you can see what your fishing onto.
There will probably be a few or load of people there so just fish near them and they will give you a bit of advice.

Loads of good rock marks if your into rock fishing!

Line mouth beach is another good mark and again go at low water to check it out.

Only problem you have now is the cod are not there in as big numbers as the they were from September on but the bigger ones are starting to come in.

Pm me if you have any questions and I'll try and help you.

Cheers for the advice Gregg, like you say i think a few recce sessions at low water is the order of the day. Im just fishing for bites at the minute so i'm not too fussed about what i catch just looking to understand the marks and when they fish to be honest. Found some good maps/marks on here so i'll give a few of them a try. Thanks once again.

Hi midas,
Try Alcan beach, safe parking in the contractors car park on the left hand side of the approach road to the power station. It's a steep shelving beach, which can SOMETIMES fish during the day when there is a bit swell on. You can catch cod here during daylight hours as the water is always very dirty, and also the odd bass. I have to stress though : it is a very "hitty / missy" mark. Will fish well some days, but hopeless on others.
However it is always worth a try, as like I say it can produce fish during daylight.
