After a couple of shocking sessions I decided to get out nice and early to fish the ebb. Got down about 4am, first couple of chucks I got nothing and got snapped off by the bellend trawler boats going out. Next couple of chucks I had two codling around 38cm. It went pretty dead until an hour before low water. I had 3 more size codling, a few coalies and dabs.

Ended up with 5 size codling, most of the fish were taken towards low water. Packed up about 11am to gan get my breaky. All fish were taken on blow lug and yellowtails.

Well done, nice bag!! You say the lower river, could you or anybody point me to somewhere handy from Wallsend? I'm working down there at the minute, and always got a spare couple of hours after graft!
Cheers!

We'll done lad that will keep you going had 5 sized codling best just under 2lb and 2 undersized after you left on Friday night but it was hard work trying to avoid the hag fish.
