Was going to have a scratching sesh on King Ed's but there was a decent sea running from the SE so went on the pier. Conditions looked good but only managed a codling of around a pound & a half. Probably 20 rods out and only 1 other size codling came in (approx 2 1/2 lb). Really poor considering the sea state & number fishing.
Could do with a good stir up in the new year to kick start the fishing

Wondered if the pier would be fishing...About 7 rods were out on Long Sands including meself. Don't think anyone had owt but rocklings. Disappointing with a good sea running.

Tony, I started at No.8 then then onto No.1 and finished on the end. Both fish came off the end. The pier hasn't been great this year.

next time your on the pier and there's been a south easterly try just to the left of the four posts. it usually fishes after any good sea's but south easterly's are best, a couple of weeks ago i lost a big fish there.

Done OK there myself Tony. Trouble was I fished low water. The ramp is a good chuck at high water in the same conditions. I've even had bass there when the water is surging up the ramp

when i fish my tynemouth club matches i used to always fish all three of my numbers but now ill only fish my numbers if i get 1-10 and if i dont get them numbers ill go to the 4 posts, the size of the fish always seem a bit better down there.
