lower tyne all nighter

me and danny deicided to do fish the lower tyne last night, we got there about 8pm and headed straight to the back wall just up from the four posts, we wanted to go to the end but it was lit up like a xmas tree. a couple of lads came off saying the only fish caught were a 2lb and a 2.5lb so things were.'t looking good. we plodded on with danny getting a cracking bite but it only hit once. a while later danny got a rockling. at about 12 a few had left so we headed to the end. after a while i was getting some bait ready and a lad next to us said "have you just kicked your rod" i hadn't so it was a bite, i waited for a bit but nothing more so in it came for more bait, it was lying on and in came this, 2lb. (danny took the pic when i wasn't expecting it, looks like i saw a ghost lol)

that one woke me up and not long after i got another about the same size followed by this little fella who went back to get bigger.

about 4am i decided to cast in a different direction and the bait was only in the water 2 minutes and i got another about the size of the other 2. danny didn't get any more and i ended up with 3 x 2lb codling and a undersize codling.

first light.

baits used were rag, lug, fresh blacks, mussel, razor, macky and frozen prawn and after catching nothing on various coctails i didn't get any fish till i used rag and lug. when gutted they had nothing at all in their stomach.

great report tony, the one i got had afew small stones in its gut but nowt acept from that. funny you should say "lit up like a xmas tree" because there was a group of lads with chritmas lights wrapped around the railings lol
