Lower Tyne estuary part 2

well picked me son up at AM and headed to pier again in search of Pollock after having good morning day before
got to end of pier and was surprised it was empty set up spinning rods with zennith spinners to start and feathers on bass rod
had few chucks into estuary and nowt son was off back wall same nowt but was still bit dark another lad turned up second cast on feathers gets hit off decent fish gets it to bottom of wall and then its off Pollock about 4lb and thats how the morning went for us all it was my turn next got nailed off decent fish managed to walk it round to low wall but it shook its head and was gone
not as many maccy about either only took 3 between two of us at low water i got nailed again off a cracking fish had my rod bent double kept good pressure on it and got it round the end it nearly pulled rod out me hand but still kept the pressure on it then it made a big dive held on had clutch set right braid was holding and you guessed it gone brought me spinner in to check treble hook on it and one was snapped and one was nearly straight on it i only bought it on Friday as you can guess was well gutted but always next time
next fish snapped me mono leader i use with braid big bite dive line snapped
then it was time to go home very eventfull and frustrating morning but will e back next weekend as there are some stonking Pollock about at min off tynemouth pier lads if your after one its worth a shot
son got one bout 1.5lb so at least he got his Pollock
all in all canny weekend on pier frustrating but good at same time other lad took coalie bout 2 1/4lb on feathers as well

aye davey hope so came very close today mate but thats fishing the first one i lost i got good look at about 3.5 to 4lb the second one pulled as tho it was twice as big.theres def some big pollock there you know that mate next time try bigger stronger treble hooks and check them more often
will be back nxt weekend as well

well pop`s, been on the phone to cris72, me fishing m8, and we`re heading up there tonight, so al let you know how we got on later........!

Some great pollack there Pop hopefully you will get them in the bag next time. I use those Zeniths a lot and find the hooks are not so good as you do lose a few fish off them. I have started changing the hooks for bigger ones (size 2 trebles) and find the fish stay on much better. Great spinners otherwise though.

nice m8, me and pop65 are back there next weekend as one of these big pollock that are hanging around of the pier. making me own drop net this week and will not be losing another 1.

Aye Sea Troot.... a drop net would be worth investing in mate! Seems the piers are coughing up some decent pollock over recent weeks
