We were on the top for a while then onto the lower level , cheers a was close to leavin mark then there was no chance of leavin untill low water mate lol

Good session mate. We could see the waves breaking over at high water about half way along the pier from shields pier and thought that's yous on till low water!.

Nice fish well done sounds like a cracking session Pier is undergoing structural maintenance next six weeks as some substantial cracks appearing. Gan canny in the big seas and stay safe.

Been on when its been worse than that and u na how the sayn goes, "who dares , wins" haha

it wasn't funny for the family of the lad who was washed off and never came back a couple of years ago, friday night the pier was a wash and wasn't a safe place to be,your lucky the lifeboat was not called out for you.dont take risks and fish safe,a few good anglers have been lost to the sea these past few years. davy.

I know its dangerous and it was stay on the pier or fish by myself and yes we took a risk along with 20 other lads am sure u and any other angler has done before if the past, this time it payed off for the fish but all the same I wont be on when its like that agen you could easy be wiped off

i dont know why people venture onto the pier in a big northly or north eastly as the pier fishes best in a good south eastly. you will get fish of there in a northly sea.
however there are marks a stones throw away to that area that are a lot safer and will fish better in a bib northly or north eastly sea.

Mental being on there you think risking your life and others for a shabby 4lb cod is worth it then you must not think very highly of your self. Most people know to avoid that pier when it's any sort of northerly MENTAL

totaly agree.

Am sure every angler has took a risk while fishing phill so to put it bluntly jog on ! Look at daveys sharpness adventure at least I had other anglers around me and alot off them , ive said it was dangerous and al not be out in it agen therrs always some dicks try to put a dampner on ya post on here sad pple

Pple take risks every day from gettin out of bed in the mornin to crossing the road in your street , could drop down dead tomorow . Life is one big risk so get over it ladys , al not be bk on when its like that as I have said it is dangerous but yous are all stating facts I all ready no so wasting ur time typing it out laters

glad to hear your thinking more about you safty your a young lad with no fear and I don't want to lose another mate, sharpness was a complete accident the rock I stood on moved and shot me forward I had loads of mates a few 100 yds away and marty was with me within 5 minutes. I would never fish the north pier in a n/easterly . davy.

I'm a cautious angler by all means. I hate wading in the dark and always watch the sea to see what it's doing, both in front of me and behind me. And now that I have two kids I'm even more careful, as already said no fish is worth your life. But at the end of the day it's always going to be up to the individual. I agree with what abz saying most people have took a risk at some point whilst fishing so stop giving the lad a hard time. Be careful lads and lasses.

Defo davy mate and I will choose a more safe spot nxt time like whitley beach even though we managed to stay dry on there although I wouldnt like to try it again as on another night like that we could of ended up in the drink, hard to keep ur mind on the fishing when its like that also
